Speakers' Biographies
Stephanie Pratt, PhD
Coordinator, Center for Motor Vehicle Safety, Division of Safety Research, National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, CDC
Dr. Stephanie Pratt leads the Center for Motor Vehicle Safety in the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH).
She is a member of the ASSE Transportation Practice specialty, the ANSI Z15 and ISO 39001 Standards Committees, and the Road Traffic Injury Research Network. Dr. Pratt serves as a federal liaison to the Network of Employers for Traffic Safety and represents NIOSH in the UN Road Safety Collaboration. In her 22-year career at NIOSH, she has made more than 50 presentations and authored numerous journal articles and technical documents on the topic of road safety.
Dr. Pratt received her doctorate degree in public policy from West Virginia University.
Terry Bunn, PhD
Associate Professor, Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health, University of Kentucky, College of Public Health
Director, Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center, University of Kentucky
Dr. Bunn is an associate professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health at the University of Kentucky, College of Public Health. She has also been the director of the Kentucky Injury Prevention and Research Center since 2010.
Dr. Bunn conducts research in in the areas of injury and illness surveillance and prevention, including the prevention of motor vehicle injuries and drug poisonings in both the general and working populations.
Dr. Bunn received her doctorate degree in immunology from Cornell University.
Mike Watson, MBA
Global Road Safety Manager, Shell International Petroleum Company, B.V.
Mike Watson is the global road safety manager for Shell Oil based in The Hague, Netherlands. His 36-year career with Shell has included various management positions in logistics, field and plant operations, and safety. His passion for road safety developed in the mid-1990s as he served as the manager of Shell’s bulk tanker fleet in the US.
Watson is a board member on the Global Road Safety Partnership and the Network of Employees for Traffic Safety. He is an active member of the United Nations Road Safety Collaboration Committee and works with several other Road Safety NGOs and local governments in regions where Shell operates across the globe.
Watson has a masters of business administration degree from Pepperdine University, a bachelors of science degree in financial management from the University of Utah, and a bachelors of science degree in mechanical engineering from Tulane University.
