Scott Fridkin, MD, CAPT

Medical Officer, Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, CDC

Scott K. Fridkin, MD, CAPT is responsible for the oversight and development of antimicrobial surveillance activities for the Division, including those within the National Healthcare Safety Network. Dr. Fridkin has been an epidemic intelligence officer at CDC and trained as an infectious disease fellow at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center and Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. He is also a Captain (CAPT) in the US Public Health Service.

Dr. Fridkin is an active committee member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America and recently served on the Board of Directors of the Society of Healthcare Epidemiology of America. He is the author or coauthor of more than 80 papers on infectious disease topics related to healthcare epidemiology and infection control.

Angela Jackley, RN

Healthcare Associated Infections Coordinator, Office of Disease Prevention, South Dakota Department of Health

Angela Jackley, RN, joined the South Dakota Department of Health in 2009 and, in her current position, she provides oversight and coordination of efforts to eliminate healthcare-associated infections (HAI). Prior to serving as the HAI coordinator, she served as a Disease Intervention Specialist Nurse investigating reportable diseases in South Dakota.

Ms. Jackley is a member of the Association of Infection Prevention and Control and serves as the Vice-Chairperson for the South Dakota Infection Control Council and on South Dakota’s CRE workgroup. She was instrumental in establishing the state’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee. She is an active member of the group and a leader in developing HAI protocols across the state.

Jeanne Negley, MBA

Director, Healthcare Associated Infections Surveillance, Division of Health Protection, Acute Disease Epidemiology Section, Georgia Department of Public Health

Jeanne Negley, MBA, manages the Healthcare-Associated Infections program for the Georgia Department of Public Health, situated in the Acute Disease Epidemiology section. In addition to the State Antibiotic Stewardship program, the Healthcare-Associated Infection program includes a broad surveillance program of Georgia healthcare providers using the National Healthcare Safety Network and the Atlanta Regional Carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae Prevention program. Ms. Negley also serves as a member of the Healthcare-Associated Infections Standards Committee of the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists.

Prior to working in Georgia, she was the state coordinator for the Healthcare-Associated Infections program in Oregon, where she served as the policy lead for the state, managed the state Advisory Committee, and provided oversight for reporting via the National Healthcare Safety Network. Ms. Negley has more than 15 years of experience working with community advisory boards and healthcare surveillance programs.
