Speakers' Biographies
Commander Djenaba A. Joseph, MD, MPH
Medical Director, Colorectal Cancer Control Program, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, CDC
Djenaba A. Joseph, MD, MPH, is board certified in internal medicine and is a Commander in the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service. She joined the CDC as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer in the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC) in 2005. She remained in DCPC as a medical officer and is currently the medical director of CDC's Colorectal Cancer Control Program.
Dr. Joseph completed her undergraduate education at the University of Michigan, received a medical degree from the University of Michigan's Medical School, and a master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She completed her residency in general internal medicine at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor. She continues to practice medicine by providing clinical services at the Atlanta Veteran's Administration Medical Center.
Felisha Dickey, MSW, MPA
Program Director, Florida Colorectal Cancer Control Program, Florida Department of Health
Felisha Dickey has more than 14 years of experience in the public health field. She is the program director of the Florida Screen for Life Colorectal Cancer Control Program at the Florida Department of Health. Prior to her transition to the Bureau of Chronic Disease and Health Promotion, Cancer Program, she worked in the Bureau of Family and Community Health, Infant, Maternal and Reproductive Health Unit, as a human services program consultant.
Ms. Dickey’s other areas of focus have included Shaken Baby Syndrome and Responsible Fatherhood. She received a bachelor’s degree in social work from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and a dual master’s degree in social work and public administration from Florida State University.
