Cecilia Joshi, PhD
Dr. Cecilia Joshi is the Director of PPEO (Acting). While at CDC she has worked at Division, Center OD, and OD levels. Dr Joshi has worked at CDC for 14 years in various aspects of science and policy, including strategy, performance, policy and partnerships. Currently, Dr. Joshi is in the Office of the Associate Director for Policy (OADP) and is CDC’s Chief Regulatory Officer and the lead for the Policy Awareness and Review Process (PARP) for CDC. Dr. Joshi serves as OADP’s liaison to the Office of Public Health Scientific Services (OPHSS), and is providing policy strategy and support related to CDC’s Surveillance Strategy. Prior to her current position, she was the Associate Director for Policy (ADP) for the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID), and before that served as ADP for the Division of Healthcare Quality and Promotion. Before her ADP roles, she worked as a Health Scientist in the Office of Public Health Research and as special assistant to CDC’s Chief Science Officer with a focus on science policy. She began her career at CDC as a Presidential Management Fellow (PMF). During her PMF fellowship, she worked in the Office of the Director’s Policy Office, the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) National Cancer Institute, CDC’s Office of Strategy and Innovation, and the U.S. Senate HELP Committee as a congressional committee staffer. Cecilia graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2002 with a PhD in biomedical engineering and a minor in public policy.Dr. Cecilia Joshi
