Mound Site

Mound Site The Mound Facility began operating in 1948, and was used to support the U.S. nuclear weapons program and energy program by researching, manufacturing and testing weapons components and spacecraft technology.1, 2 In 1986, the site was placed on the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Priorities List , and has since been remediated and redeveloped for use in the private sectors. 2
