Subject: National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) and the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) are co-hosting a meeting for all respirator manufacturers, July 26 - 28, 2011

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) and the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) are co-hosting a meeting for all respirator manufacturers. The meeting will be held from July 26 through July 28, 2011, and will be held at the Health and Safety Laboratory in Buxton Derbyshire, United Kingdom . All manufacturers and other interested parties are welcome to attend. Pre-registration is required for this meeting.

The formal presentations will begin at 9:00 a.m. on July 26, 2011. There will also be time set aside for manufacturers to schedule private appointments with NIOSH personnel to talk about certification issues or any other related topics. If you are interested in meeting with NIOSH personnel, please e-mail npptlevents@cdc.gov to set up an appointment. There will also be a sign-up sheet to reserve private appointments at the registration table on the first day of the meeting. A private meeting with existing approval holders can be scheduled for Monday, July 25th. All other meetings will be scheduled following each day of presentations and Friday, if required.

NIOSH will be giving the following presentations: Overview of NIOSH, Certification Process Detail, Documentation, QA Overview, Sampling, Site Audits/Product Audits, Testing Overview, Certified Product Investigations Program (CPIP), and Private Labeling/Private Packaging. NIOSH will also be conducting workshops and round table discussions. A formal agenda, including the presentations from Health and Safety Laboratory, workshops and round table topics will be posted on the NIOSH/NPPTL website at a later date. The presentations will be presented in English.
