Subject: Relocation of NIOSH's Respirator Branch to the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL)

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is announcing the relocation of the Respirator Branch to the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) in Bruceton, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh.

As of Monday, August 5, 2002 all respirator approval applications, associated correspondence, and hardware with the exception of SCBA CBRN hardware should be mailed to:

SCBA CBRN respirator hardware should continue to be mailed to:

As a point of clarification, SCBA CBRN respirator applications and associated correspondence should be be mailed to the above Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania address the same as all other respirator applications.
Manufacturers can still inquire about the status of their projects, obtain copies of the Standard Application Form, Certified Equipment List, etc. on the Internet at http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/npptl/resources/certpgmspt/default.html. The technical support telephone number and E-mail address shown on this website will be updated.

In the interim, those applications which are mailed to the Morgantown facility will be forwarded to the Pittsburgh facility via courier.
