2012 – Knowledge of Winter Warnings and Emergency Preparedness

Location: Burleigh County
Purpose: Assess winter weather knowledge in Burleigh County in conjunction with the local National Weather Service (NWS). The goals of the CASPER were to assess: 1) the acceptability of the winter weather warnings issued by the NWS during extremely cold weather events in North Dakota, especially following the recent change in winter weather warnings; and 2) the emergency or disaster preparedness of the community. Specific questions regarding well water use were also asked to those respondents on well water.
