Girl Scouts

Designed to show Girl Scout the similarities between CDC’s mission and the Girl Scout Law, tours may vary slightly in content but will generally cover how CDC, like the Girl Scouts, “makes the world a better place.” Girl Scout Tours are 30 minutes long, but troops are highly encouraged to stay and explore the exhibits after the guided tour concludes.

Target Audience: Cadettes, Seniors, Ambassadors, and Junior troops who have a strong interest in public health science.

Dates: Every Thursday (except federal holidays)

Times: 5:00pm, 6:00pm

To Reserve a Slot: Read the Frequently Asked Questions below, then email education@cdc.gov with the following pieces of information:

• Troop number & level
• Troop leader name
• Tour coordinator cell phone number
• Number of attendees

Please note: Your group is not scheduled until you receive a confirmation email in return with a specific date and time. Confirmation emails will include driving directions, parking instructions and pertinent information related to the CDC Museum.

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance do we need to schedule?

At least a week in advance.

How many Girl Scouts per tour?

Groups of up to 20 Girl Scouts may schedule a tour. Smaller groups may be paired with another small Troop for a tour.

Can my Troop eat dinner at the CDC Museum?

The CDC Museum does not have a concession area, and the CDC Museum exhibit space is a no food and no drink zone, so we recommend having a snack in the car on your drive here.

Where is the CDC Museum?

CDC Museum is located at 1600 Clifton Road, NE, MS A-14, at CDC’s headquarters campus in Atlanta, GA. Tour confirmation emails will have driving directions, parking instructions and security information specific to the museum.

I just emailed education@cdc.gov with my information. Now what?

Within one business day you should have a reply. Because slots fill up on a first come, first serve basis, your first choice might not be available, but every effort will be made to give your Troop a date and time that works for you.
