Water Fluoridation Training Program

CDC provides a training on the Principles and Practice of Water Fluoridation. This training is designed to build the capability of state fluoridation programs and to help water program staff and public health professionals increase their knowledge and refine their skills related to community water fluoridation. In addition, CDC provides a half-day course to prepare program staff to use the Water Fluoridation Reporting System (WFRS).

Water Fluoridation Reporting System (WFRS)

WFRS helps states manage the quality of their water fluoridation programs. This system is also used to develop state and national health statistics that describe the percentage of the U.S. population on community water systems receiving optimally fluoridated drinking water. WFRS was developed by the CDC in partnership with the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors.

Technical Assistance to State Programs

CDC provides technical assistance to state programs regarding engineering support, facility management, and operational support. CDC serves as a resource on community water fluoridation to other federal government agencies, state programs, and professional organizations and associations.
