The following is an important public health announcement about drinking water safety. Normal sources of water may be unsafe following the earthquake, even if the water looks clear. Drink treated water if possible. Boiling water for 1 minute is the best way to make water safe to drink. Adding 5 drops of household bleach to 1 liter of water will also make water safe. Do not try to make water that has mixed with fuel or harmful chemicals safe. Never drink water that has mixed with fuel or harmful chemicals. These tips can save lives….Be safe.
