What is the National Diabetes Education Program?

Established in 1997, the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) is a federally-funded program sponsored by the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The goals of NDEP are to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes and reduce the illness and premature death caused by diabetes and its complications. 

Evidence from the partners address the issues faced by ethnic groups that disproportionately have diabetes; health care providers who care for them, including podiatrists, pharmacists, optometrists, and dentists; and many types of businesses.
