Minnesota CHW Curriculum

The Minnesota CHW core curriculum is offered through several community colleges and other post-secondary schools and consists of 14 credit hours, including a capstone internship experience at the end of the program. Each curriculum component begins with a focus on the CHW's role in that topic area.

The majority of the curriculum relates to core competencies, paralleling those we discussed earlier. The courses are:

• Role, Advocacy, and Outreach
• Organization and Resources
• Teaching and Capacity Building
• Legal and Ethical Responsibilities
• Coordination and Documentation
• Communication and Cultural Competency
