In the following maps, the U.S. states are divided into groups based on the rates at which women developed or died from breast cancer in 2014, which is the most recent year for which incidence data are available. The rates are the numbers out of 100,000 women who developed or died from breast cancer each year.

Rates of Getting Breast Cancer by State

The number of people who get breast cancer is called breast cancer incidence. In the United States, the rate of getting breast cancer varies from state to state.
