Additional Activities

Participants can take part in educational activities while they wait for their soil screening results. Invite local gardening groups to talk to participants about growing, harvesting, and preparing garden produce to eat.

Invite health-related service groups to conduct:

• Blood lead testing
• Blood pressure testing
• Cholesterol testing
• Blood sugar testing
• Other health screenings such as Body Mass Index

Remember, children may come to the event with their parents. Plan activities for them such as face painting or games related to gardening.
