ٹیلی گرافی

ٹیلی گرافی (یونانی: τῆλε (بہ معنی دور) اور γράφειν (بہ معنی نوشتگی) ) دور کے فاصلوں میں واقع مقامات کو متنی یا علامتی پیامات کے ارسال (جس میں لفظ اور آوار کا استعمال نہ ہو) کا ایک طریقہ ہے۔ اس میں کسی پیام کے تبادلے میں مستعمل شے کا تبادلہ نہیں ہوتا۔ اس طرح سے سیمافور ٹیلی گرافی کا ایک طریقہ ہے، جبکہ کبوتروں کے پیامات نہیں ہیں۔

ٹیلی گرافی کے لیے ضروری ہے کہ پیامات کی ترمیز کے لیے ایسا طریقہ ہو جو بھیجنے والے اور حاصل کرنے والے کو پتہ ہو۔ کئی طریقے اشارہ رسانی ذریعے کے حساب سے وضع کیے گئے ہیں۔ دھوئیں کے اشارے، بیکان، منعکس روشنی اشارے اور فلیگ سیمافور اشارے ابتدائی مثالیں ہیں۔ بیسویں صدی میں ریڈیو کا ایجاد ریڈیوٹیلی گرافی اور دیگر لاسلکی ٹیلی گرافی کی شکلیں ساتھ لے آیا۔ انٹرنیٹ کے دور میں ٹیلی گرافی کے استعمال سے مراد اعلٰی ٹیکنالوجی اور سہولت ہے، جس کے ساتھ قدرتی زبان کا انٹرفیس شامل ہے جو پس پردہ ترمیز کو چھپاتا ہے۔ اس سے کئی دیگر تکنیکیں جیسے کہ ای میل اور فوری پیام رسانی ممکن ہو سکی ہیں۔
