நிக்கோசியா

நிக்கோசியா (ஆங்கிலம்:Nicosia, கிரேக்க மொழி: Λευκωσία, துருக்கியம்: Lefkoşa), சைப்பிரஸ் நாட்டின் தலைநகரமும் மிகப்பெரிய நகரமும் ஆகும். இது உள்ளூரில் லெப்கோசியா (ஆங்கிலம்:Lefkosia) என அழைக்கப்படுகின்றது. இது சைப்பிரசின் வர்த்தக மையமாகவும் திகழ்கின்றது[2]. உலகில் இரு ஆட்சிப்பகுதிகளுக்குச் சொந்தமானதாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள[3] ஒரேயொரு தலைநகரம் நிக்கோசியா ஆகும். இதன் வடபகுதியையும் தென்பகுதியையும் ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் அவையால் அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட பச்சைக் கோடு எனும் பகுதி பிரிக்கின்றது[4]. சைப்பிரஸ் தீவின் மத்திய பகுதியில் இந்நகரம் அமைந்துள்ளது.
