പബ്ലിയസ് വിർജീലിയസ് മാരോ (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് സംസാരിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ വിർജിൽ എന്നും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു) (ഒക്ടോബർ 15, 70 ക്രി.മു - സെപ്റ്റംബർ 21, 19 ക്രി.മു) ലാറ്റിൻ ഭാഷയിൽ കവിതകൾ എഴുതുന്ന കവിയായിരുന്നു. എക്ളോഗ്വസ്, ജിയോർജിക്സ്, ഏകദേശം പൂർത്തിയായ ഈനിഡ് എന്നിവയാണ് വിർജിലിന്റെ പുസ്തക ത്രയങ്ങൾ. വിർജിലിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും പ്രശസ്തമായ ഇതിഹാസ കവിതയാണ് ഈനിഡ്. 12 വാല്യങ്ങളുള്ള ഈ ഇതിഹാസം റോമാ സാമ്രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ ദേശീയേതിഹാസമായി. വിർജിലിന്റെ കവിതകൾ പ്രധാനമായും ദൈവങ്ങളെയും മിഥോളജിയെയും കുറിച്ചാണ്.
