പനങ്കുറുമ്പൻ

പനവർഗസസ്യങ്ങളുള്ളിടത്ത് ജീവിക്കുന്ന ഒരു പൂമ്പാറ്റയാണ് പനങ്കുറുമ്പൻ (Indian Palm Bob).[1][2][3][4] ഓറിയന്റൽ പാം ബോബ് എന്നും ഇതിന് പേരുണ്ട് [5] പണ്ടുകാലത്ത് മലേഷ്യയിൽ വിരളമായി മാത്രമാണ് കാണപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നതെങ്കിലും ആതിഥേയസസ്യമായ പന വ്യാപകമായി വളർത്താനാരംഭിച്ചതിനെത്തുടർന്ന് ഈ ശലഭം വ്യാപകമായി.

രൂപസവിശേഷതകൾ

തവിട്ടുനിറത്തിലുള്ള ചിറകിൽ ഏതാനും കറുത്ത പൊട്ടുകൾ കാണാം. ചിറകുകൾ പാതി വിടർത്തി വെയിൽ കായുന്ന സ്വഭാവം പനങ്കുറുമ്പനുണ്ട്. സ്കിപ്പർ ഇനത്തിലെ മറ്റു ശലഭങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ വേഗത്തിലാണ് പനങ്കുറുമ്പൻ പറക്കുന്നത്. വിശ്രമിക്കുന്നത് ചിറകുകൾ ചേർത്തുവച്ചാണ്. [6]

പ്രജനനം

ഈ ശലഭങ്ങൾ പനയോലകളിലാണ് മുട്ടയിടുന്നത്. ഓലയുടെ മുകൾ വശത്താണ് സാധാരണ മുട്ടയിടുക. മുട്ടകൾക്ക് ഇഷ്ടികയുടെ ചുവപ്പുനിറമാണ്.
