നീലത്തത്ത

തൂവലുകൾക്ക് പച്ചനിറത്തിനു പകരം ചാരനിറവും നീലനിറവുമുള്ള തത്തയാണിത്.[2] [3][4][5] (ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്: Blue Winged Parakeet ശാസ്ത്രീയ നാമം: Psittacula columboides ). യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ ഒരു മൈനയുടെ വലിപ്പം മാത്രമേ നീലതത്തയ്ക്കുള്ളൂ. നീളമേറിയ വാൽ കാരണം ഇവയ്ക്ക് വലിപ്പം കൂടുതലാണെന്നു തോന്നിപ്പോകും. വാലിന്റെ അഗ്രം മഞ്ഞയാണ്. കൊക്കിന്റെ മേൽ‌പകുതി ചുവപ്പും കീഴ്പകുതി മഞ്ഞയും കറുപ്പും കലർന്ന നിറമാണ്. കാടുകളിൽ കൂടുതലായി കാണുന്ന ഇവയെ മുളന്തത്ത എന്നും വിളിക്കാറുണ്ട്. മിക്കപ്പോറും കൂട്ടമായാണ് മുളന്തത്തകൾ കാണുന്നത്. തറയിൽ നിന്നും ആറ് മീറ്റർ മുതൽ ഇരുപത് മീറ്റർ വരെ ഉയരത്തിലുള്ള വൃക്ഷങ്ങളിലാണ് ഇവ കൂടുണ്ടാക്കുന്നത്.[6] [7]
