നാൽക്കണ്ണി

നിംഫാലിഡെ കുടുംബത്തിൽപെട്ട ചെറിയ ചിത്രശലഭമാണ് നാൽകണ്ണി (Ypthima huebneri).[1][2][3][4][5] വീട്ടുപറമ്പിലും ഇടനാടൻചെങ്കൽക്കുന്നുകളിലും വനപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലും ഇവയെ ധാരാളം കാണാം. ചിറകുകളിലുള്ള പെട്ടുകളാണ് നാൽക്കണ്ണി എന്ന പേരിനു കാരണം. മുൻ ചിറകിൽ വലിയ ഓരോ കൺപൊട്ടുകൾ ഉണ്ട്.പിൻചിറകുകളിൽ വ്യക്തമായ നാലു കൺപൊട്ടുകൾ. പുൽവർഗ്ഗത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട സസ്യങ്ങളിലാണ് മുട്ടയിടുന്നതും ലാർവകൾ വളരുന്നതും
