জীবমণ্ডল
জীবমণ্ডল (ইংরেজি: Biosphere) হচ্ছে পৃথিবীর সমগ্র ইকোসিস্টেমগুলির যোগফল। এটিকে বলা যেতে পারে পৃথিবীর জীবনের এলাকা, একটি সংযুক্ত প্রক্রিয়া (পৃথিবীর অভ্যন্তরের সৌর এবং মহাবৈশ্বিক রেডিয়েশন এবং তাপ থেকে বিযুক্ত) এবং বৃহত্তরভাবে স্বনিয়ন্ত্রিত।[1] অন্য কথায় পৃথিবীর বাইরের স্তরে অবস্থিত বায়ু, ভূমি, পানি ও জীবিত বস্তুসমূহের সমষ্টিকে জীবমণ্ডল বোঝায়।জীবনের অস্তিত্বের সঙ্গেই জীবমণ্ডলের সম্পর্ক। জীবমণ্ডলের বিস্তৃতি ওপর-নিচে ২০ কিলোমিটারের মতো ধরা হলেও মূলত অধিকাংশ জীবনের অস্তিত্ব দেখা যায় হিমালয় শীর্ষের উচ্চতা থেকে ৫০০ মিটার নিচের সামুদ্রিক গভীরতার মধ্যেই।
