History

The Emergency Medicine Program at HESLP initiated on July 1, 2008. The program has a highly qualified and dedicated faculty who are all Board Certified in their specialty and have extensive experience in their field and in graduate medical education.

Primary Hospital

Hospital Episcopal San Lucas Ponce (HESLP)

HESLP Ponce is the institution in charge of providing secondary and tertiary health care services to a large population that includes the city of Ponce, as well as other municipalities of the South and Western regions of Puerto Rico. The hospital is a 427 bed facility with state of the art technology that provides graduate medical training to over 90 physicians as well as a large group of medical students from our affiliate, Ponce School of Medicine and Health Science.

The length of training is three (3) years and the number of authorized positions per year are seven (7).
