• California’s Immunization Billing Project Plan [5.33 MB, 96 pages]—A public health action plan developed to describe the activities, protocols, and procedures needed to pilot, initiate, and sustain a successful billing effort with the state immunization program.
• Georgia Department of Public Health Billing Resource Manual—Provides policy and procedural guidance on how to bill third-party payers for public health programs and services. Developed as a billing resource tool, its purpose is to assist state, district, and county public health staff in understanding the insurance coding and billing process.
• Kansas Local Health Department Clinical Services Coding Resource Guide—Provides recommended policy and procedural guidance on how to bill third-party payers for public health programs and services. Used to assist state, district, and county public health staff in understanding the insurance coding and billing process.
• Minnesota Department of Health Immunization Program Billing website—Includes resources to help support immunization providers in billing the most common Minnesota health plans.
• Missouri’s Billing Plan Toolkit for Local Public Health Agencies [1.12 MB, 76 pages]—Comprehensive guide that offers local public health agencies tools to assist in establishing billing plans and billing private/commercial insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid for immunization services
• The Washington State Local Health Jurisdiction Immunization Billing Resource Guide [5.54 MB, 192 pages]—Contains suggestions, sample forms, billing tips, Internet links, and other resources. Provides detailed instructions for local health departments in the early stages of billing health insurance plans. Useful as a desk reference for daily billing processes and a training tool and reference for finance managers and nursing directors.
• Wisconsin Immunization Program Billing Manual for Local Health Departments—Designed to assist Wisconsin’s local public health departments in obtaining insurance reimbursement for clients whose health plans cover immunizations.
