Vaccine-related health observances each year give CDC and partners opportunities to highlight the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrate the achievements of immunization programs and their partners in promoting healthy communities.
National Infant Immunization Week (NIIW) takes place in April each year. Visit CDC’s NIIW page to view planning, educational, and promotional resources for observing NIIW in your community.
National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is observed in August each year, and each week focuses on the vaccine recommendations for different audiences. The National Public Health Information Coalition (NPHIC), in collaboration with CDC, has developed toolkits to help partners communicate about vaccines for various audiences.
