CureTB

Image of lungs with continents like a globe

The CureTB program is one of CDC’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine’s (DGMQ) efforts to prevent the spread of communicable diseases among people who cross international borders. CureTB works to connect people with tuberculosis (TB) to services as they move from to one place to another. The program works with domestic and international partners to reduce the spread of TB and the emergence of drug-resistant tuberculosis strains.

CureTB collaborates with health authorities throughout the United States and around the world to link travelers with TB to care at their destinations. Health departments, healthcare providers, and other partners seeking help in linking their patients to ongoing TB care in other countries can refer patients to CureTB.

CureTB accomplishes its community-centered goal of reducing the spread of TB by

  • Collecting and providing high-quality clinical information to healthcare providers.
  • Educating patients and motivating continued adherence.
  • Promoting integrated care by coordinating with U.S. and global partners.
