About

CDC’s E-learning Essentials and E-learning Essentials Interactive are designed to aid developers in creating quality e-learning by identifying and summarizing key instructional components, exploring why they are important, and determining how to use each component most effectively.

Neither of these tools provide step-by-step instructions for creating an e- learning product. Some experience in education, adult learning, or instructional design is recommended.

Authorities consulted during development of these tools include the Scientific Education and Professional Development Program Office (SEPDPO), Educational Design and Accreditation Branch (EDAB); CDC’s eLearning Workgroup (eLWG), and the Usability.gov recommendations at http://www.usability.gov.
