Support Health Security

  • Traveler’s Health: Portal features up-to-date health information for international travelers. This includes vaccination advice, illness and injury protection, travel clinic locations, and the “Yellow Book,” CDC Health Information for International Travel.
  • Global Health Security: Describes why Global Health Security matters; links to the overall Global Health Security Agenda (Prevent-Detect-Respond) and CDC’s unique role.
  • Global Disease Detection (GDD): CDC’s principal program to develop and strengthen a global system of disease protection. GDD works with a variety of in-country, U.S. government and international and non-government partners. Provides a list of GDD partners and regional centers.
  • Emergency Preparedness and Response: CDC’s primary source of information and resources for preparing for and responding to public health emergencies. To contact CDC’s Emergency Operations Center call 770-488-7100.
  • Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs): HAIs are infections that patients acquire during the course of receiving healthcare treatment for other conditions. Learn what you can do.
  • Health Alert Network (HAN): CDC’s primary tool for sharing approved and verified information about urgent public health incidents with clinicians, public information officers, local public health practitioners, and others.

Support a Healthy Economy

CDC is vital to a healthy economy in three essential ways:

  1. CDC fights pandemics and disease outbreaks that disrupt business continuity and reduce productivity.
  2. CDC provides evidence-based guidelines and health data to help protect workers from health, occupational, and environmental hazards.
  3. CDC helps employers and families reduce healthcare spending on chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke.
  • Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) Technology Transfer Office (TTO): The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Technology Transfer Office (TTO) partners with industry, academia, non-profits, and other government agencies to transfer CDC’s research portfolio into products and services to improve public health.
  • Making the Case for Investing in Prevention and Wellness: Links to data-driven documents supporting prevention policies for business. 
  • National Healthy Worksite Program: Designed to assist employers in implementing science- and practice-based prevention and wellness strategies to promote good health through prevention and chronic illness and disability reduction. Links to resources, training, toolkit and case studies. Includes links to related CDC resources:
    • Workplace Health Promotion: Toolkit to design, implement, and evaluate effective workplace health programs.
