NIOSH Will Discuss Energy Research Program at Oct. 27 Public Meeting

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) will hold a public meeting on Oct. 27, 2005, in Washington, D.C., to discuss current research and potential future studies under NIOSH's occupational energy research program.

The research program conducts and supports rigorous scientific studies to address questions as to whether employment in nuclear facilities may be associated with increased risk for cancer and other adverse health effects. It is administered under a memorandum of understanding with the U.S. Department of Energy.

The meeting will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Washington Court Hotel, 525 New Jersey Avenue N.W., Washington, DC 20001.
