EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST!

•INHALATION Cough.
Avoid inhalation of dust.
Fresh air, rest.
•SKIN
Protective gloves.
Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
•EYES Redness.
Safety goggles
Rinse with plenty of water (remove contact lenses if easily possible).
•INGESTION

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL

STORAGE

PACKAGING & LABELLING

Personal protection: particulate filter adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Sweep spilled substance into containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting.
Separated from acids.

ICSC: 1695 Prepared in the context of cooperation between the International Programme on Chemical Safety & the Commission of the European Communities (C) IPCS CEC 1994. No modifications to the International version have been made except to add the OSHA PELs, NIOSH RELs and NIOSH IDLH values.

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA

N O T E S

Strontium ion has effects on the calcium content of the bones and teeth, but data concerning harmful doses of strontium carbonate are inadequate. Strontium carbonate occurs naturally in the environment as strontianite. The physico-chemical properties and its natural occurence as strotianite in the environment indicate also the SrCO3 is stable and rather inert in its solid form. It can be expected that it is persistent and distributes mainly to the soil compartment.
