FIRE Not combustible but enhances combustion of other substances. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO contact with combustibles.
Water in large amounts. Foam. Dry powder.
EXPLOSION Risk of explosion when heated and on contact with combustible substances and other substances (see Chemical Dangers).

In case of fire: cool drums, etc., by spraying with water but avoid contact of the substance with water.
EXPOSURE
STRICT HYGIENE!

•INHALATION Cough. Sore throat. Laboured breathing.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness.
Protective gloves.
First rinse with plenty of water, then remove contaminated clothes and rinse again.
•EYES Redness. Pain. Burns
Safety goggles .
First rinse with plenty of water (remove contact lenses if easily possible). Refer immediately for medical attention.
•INGESTION Abdominal pain. Burning sensation. Shock or collapse.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Give one or two glasses of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention.

Personal protection: particulate filter adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Sweep spilled substance into sealable, dry containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place.
Dry. Well closed. Separated from amines , combustible and reducing substances. See Chemical Dangers. Store in an area without drain or sewer access. Provision to contain effluent from fire extinguishing.

The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic fumes . May explode on heating. The substance is a strong oxidant and reacts violently with combustible and reducing materials. Reacts violently with ammonia, ammonium salts and amines, sodium carbonate (soda ash) causing fire and explosion hazard. Reacts with strong acids producing toxic gas (chlorine; see ICSC 0126). sing

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is severely irritating to the eyes and the respiratory tract and is mildly irritating to the skin . Corrosive on ingestion. Inhalation of the dust may cause lung oedema (see Notes).

The substance is very toxic to aquatic organisms. It is strongly advised that this substance does not enter the environment.

N O T E S

The substance decomposes in water producing hypochloric acid and cyanuric acid. The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation is therefore essential. Immediate administration of an appropriate inhalation therapy by a doctor or a person authorized by him/her, should be considered. See ICSC 1313 (Cyanuric acid).
