FIRE FIGHTING

FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames. NO contact with oxidants.
Water spray, foam, powder, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Above 79°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 79°C use a closed system, ventilation.

EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

•INHALATION Blue lips or finger nails. Blue skin. Convulsions. Dizziness. Laboured breathing. Vomiting. Symptoms may be delayed (see Notes).
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness. MAY BE ABSORBED! (Further see Inhalation).
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Face shield or or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION (See Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Give plenty of water to drink. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Refer for medical attention. See Notes.

Personal protection: complete protective clothing including self-contained breathing apparatus. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place.
Store in an area without drain or sewer access. Well closed. Separated from food and feedstuffs .
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the skin and the eyes . The substance may cause effects on the blood , resulting in the formation of methaemoglobin. Medical observation is indicated. The effects may be delayed.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the blood , resulting in anaemia .
