PHYSICAL DANGERS:
CHEMICAL DANGERS: The substance decomposes on heating producing nitrogen oxides (see ICSC 0067, ICSC 0930) and hydrogen chloride (see ICSC 0163). Reacts with strong bases . Attacks mild steel.
OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS: TLV: 10 mg/m3 as TWA; A4 (not classifiable as a human carcinogen); (ACGIH 2004). OSHA PEL†: TWA 15 mg/m3 (total) TWA 5 mg/m3 (resp) NIOSH REL: See Appendix D NIOSH IDLH: N.D. See: IDLH INDEX
| ROUTES OF EXPOSURE: The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and by ingestion.
INHALATION RISK: Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a nuisance-causing concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly on spraying or when dispersed, especially if powdered.
EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE: The substance is irritating to the eyes , the skin and the respiratory tract .
EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE: The substance may have effects on the liver. |

Insufficient data are available on the effect of this substance on human health, therefore utmost care must be taken. Carrier solvents used in commercial formulations may change physical and toxicological properties. Do NOT take working clothes home. Tordon, Amdon, ATCLP, Borolin, K-PIN, Chloramp, Grazon are trade names. Card has been partly updated in April 2005. See sections Occupational Exposure Limits, Physical properties. |
