FIRE FIGHTING

FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Powder, AFFF, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Above 75°C explosive vapour/air mixtures may be formed.
Above 75°C use a closed system, ventilation.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
PREVENT GENERATION OF MISTS!

•INHALATION Confusion. Headache. Laboured breathing. Nausea. Unconsciousness. Vomiting. Weakness.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Artificial respiration if indicated. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness.
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety goggles, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION (Further see Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Rest. Refer for medical attention.

Collect leaking and spilled liquid in sealable containers as far as possible. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Chemical protection suit including self-contained breathing apparatus.
Separated from food and feedstuffs . Well closed. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

COLOURLESS LIQUID , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating or on burning, producing toxic fumes including hydrogen cyanide, nitrogen oxides. Reacts violently with strong acids to produce highly toxic hydrogen cyanide. Attacks some plastics.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
No indication can be given about the rate in which a harmful concentration in the air is reached on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance irritates the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the cellular respiration , resulting in cyanosis. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated.
