FIRE Combustible. Many reactions may cause fire or explosion. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Foam, powder or carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION

In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE
STRICT HYGIENE!
IN ALL CASES CONSULT A DOCTOR!
•INHALATION Cough. Laboured breathing. Shortness of breath. Sore throat.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness. Pain.
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Face shield, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Abdominal cramps. Abdominal pain. Burning sensation in the mouth. Diarrhoea. Nausea. Vomiting.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.

PACKAGING & LABELLING

Evacuate danger area! Consult an expert! Ventilation. Remove all ignition sources. Sweep spilled substance into air tight containers. Chemical protection suit including self-contained breathing apparatus.
Separated from acids, oxidants , food and feedstuffs . Cool. Dry. Well closed. Keep in a well-ventilated room.
Airtight. Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
HYGROSCOPIC , WHITE TO YELLOW CRYSTALS , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
On combustion, forms ammonia fumes, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides. The substance decomposes at room temperature producing toxic and corrosive gases including ammonia and hydrogen sulfide . Reacts with acids producing hydrogen sulfide and sulfur oxides . Reacts violently with oxidants causing fire and explosion hazard.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body through the skin, by inhalation and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached very quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is severely irritating to the eyes , the skin and the respiratory tract .

The commercial product is available as a 40% solution that is more stable than the dry product. UN number for the solution is 2683. The substance is combustible but no flash point is available in literature. Insufficient data are available on the effect of this substance on human health, therefore utmost care must be taken.
