Heating may cause violent combustion or explosion. On combustion, forms toxic and corrosive gases. The substance is a strong oxidant and reacts violently with combustible and reducing materials amines, metals, strong acids, strong bases,, causing fire and explosion hazard.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 0.2 ppm (Ceiling value) (ACGIH 2005).
MAK not established.
OSHA PEL: none
NIOSH REL: C 0.2 ppm (1.5 mg/m3)
NIOSH IDLH: N.D. See: IDLH INDEX

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful concentration of airborne particles can be reached quickly when dispersed.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is corrosive to the eyes, the skin and the respiratory tract. Corrosive on ingestion.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:

PHYSICAL
PROPERTIES

Boiling point (decomposes): >80°C
Relative density (water = 1): 1.10-1.17
Solubility in water:
very poor

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA

N O T E S

The occupational exposure limit value should not be exceeded during any part of the working exposure. Technical product is sold with 40-60% of diluent (for example, dimethyl phthalate, cyclohexanol peroxide, diallyl phthalate) to reduce potential explosion hazard. An added stabilizer or inhibitor can influence the toxicological properties of this substance, consult an expert. Rinse contaminated clothes (fire hazard) with plenty of water. Other UN numbers 3105, 3107 for Organic peroxide.
