FIRE Combustible under specific conditions.
NO open flames.
In case of fire in the surroundings: use appropriate extinguishing media.
EXPLOSION Risk of fire and explosion on contact with molten magnesium.


EXPOSURE
AVOID ALL CONTACT!

•INHALATION Cough. Sore throat.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness.
Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
•EYES Redness.
Safety goggles, or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Abdominal pain. Nausea. Vomiting. Diarrhoea.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Give plenty of water to drink. Refer for medical attention.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic fumesincluding fumes of sodium oxide. Reacts violently with halogens causing fire and explosion hazard.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: (as Mo, soluble compounds, respirable fraction) 0.5 mg/m3 as TWA; A3 (confirmed animal carcinogen with unknown relevance to humans); (ACGIH 2004).
MAK: IIb (not established but data is available) (DFG 2004).


ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful concentration of airborne particles can be reached quickly when dispersed.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The aerosol is irritating to the respiratory tract and the eyes .

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the respiratory tract. This substance is possibly carcinogenic to humans.
