FIRE FIGHTING

FIRE Not combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames. NO contact with hot surfaces.
In case of fire in the surroundings: use appropriate extinguishing media.
EXPLOSION

In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE


•INHALATION Cough. Sore throat.
Ventilation (not if powder), local exhaust, or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness.
Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. Refer for medical attention.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION Abdominal pain. Burning sensation. Convulsions. Drowsiness. Cough. Diarrhoea. Sore throat. Vomiting. Unconsciousness.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Induce vomiting (ONLY IN CONSCIOUS PERSONS!). Give plenty of water to drink. Refer for medical attention.

Sweep spilled substance into covered containers. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place. Personal protection: P2 filter respirator for harmful particles.
Separated from acids, food and feedstuffs .
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

On contact with hot surfaces or flames this substance decomposes forming toxic and corrosive fumes . Reacts with acids to produce toxic and corrosive fumes .

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly; on spraying or dispersing, however, much faster.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes , the skin and the respiratory tract . Exposure when ingested could cause hypocalcaemia and hypokalaemia , resulting in central nervous system and cardiac disorders .

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
The substance may have effects on the bones and teeth (fluorosis).
