TYPES OF HAZARD/ EXPOSURE

ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS

PREVENTION

FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING

FIRE Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.
NO open flames.
Powder, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Finely dispersed particles form explosive mixtures in air.
Prevent deposition of dust; closed system, dust explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting.

EXPOSURE See EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE.
AVOID ALL CONTACT!

•INHALATION
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest.
•SKIN
Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety goggles.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Give one or two glasses of water to drink. Seek medical attention if you feel unwell

SPILLAGE DISPOSAL

STORAGE

PACKAGING & LABELLING

Personal protection: particulate filter adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers; if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place
Separated from strong oxidants, and strong acids. Store in an area without drain or sewer access.
