ACUTE HAZARDS/ SYMPTOMS

PREVENTION

FIRST AID/
FIRE FIGHTING

FIRE Not combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.

In case of fire in the surroundings: use appropriate extinguishing media.
EXPLOSION

EXPOSURE
PREVENT DISPERSION OF DUST! AVOID ALL CONTACT!

•INHALATION Cough.
Local exhaust or breathing protection.
Fresh air, rest.
•SKIN Redness. Pain.
Protective gloves. Protective clothing.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety spectacles, face shield or eye protection in combination with breathing protection if powder.
Rinse with plenty of water (remove contact lenses if easily possible).
•INGESTION Sore throat.
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.
Rinse mouth. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Refer for medical attention.

STORAGE

PACKAGING & LABELLING

Personal protection: particulate filter adapted to the airborne concentration of the substance. Do NOT let this chemical enter the environment. Sweep spilled substance into sealable containers: if appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. Carefully collect remainder, then remove to safe place.
Separated from strong oxidants, strong bases, strong acids, and food and feedstuffs. Ventilation along the floor. Store in an area without drain or sewer access. of Keep in a well-ventilated room. at update 2007.;
Do not transport with food and feedstuffs.

PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
COLOURLESS TO YELLOW CRYSTALS , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating producing toxic fumes including nitrogen oxides and chlorine . Reacts with strong oxidants , strong reducing agents , strong acids and strong bases .

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV not established.
MAK not established.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body in hazardous amounts by ingestion. The substance can be absorbed into the body through the skin. rm exposure for skin, Peer-review decision: old data after 30 day skin application 3/5 rabbits died with fatty infiltration of heart and liver and hemosiderin deposition in spleen. These effects were not seen in similar s.c. and i.v. studies at mortal doses, which is strange. Because there seems to be skin absorption, but the study is questionable, it was decided to use 13501 instead of 13502.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful concentration of airborne particles can be reached quickly

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes and the skin .

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. Animal tests show that this substance possibly causes toxicity to human reproduction or development. (Reduction in testicular weight and size, depression and/or cessation of spermatogenesis in rats. Reduction in implantations and fertility index in mice.), 50 (no effect on prenatal development, no toxicity production to either the dams or fetus, no teratological effect), Added at update 2007.
