PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
ORANGE RED CRYSTALS OR YELLOW POWDER.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on heating or on burning producing toxic fumes ( nitrogen oxides ).

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV not established.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol.

INHALATION RISK:
Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes and the respiratory tract . Inhalation of dust may cause asthmatic reactions (see Notes).

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis. Repeated or prolonged contact may cause skin sensitization. Repeated or prolonged inhalation exposure may cause asthma.

PHYSICAL
PROPERTIES

none

ENVIRONMENTAL
DATA

N O T E S

The symptoms of asthma often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. Anyone who has shown symptoms of asthma due to this substance should avoid all further contact. Genitron AC, Kempore 125, Porofor LK1074 and Unifoam AZ are trade names. Card has been partly updated in October 2005. See section Emergency Response.
