FIRE FIGHTING

FIRE Highly flammable.
NO open flames, NO sparks, and NO smoking.
Water spray, alcohol-resistant foam, powder, carbon dioxide.
EXPLOSION Vapour/air mixtures are explosive. Heating will cause rise in pressure with risk of bursting.
Closed system, ventilation, explosion-proof electrical equipment and lighting. Do NOT use compressed air for filling, discharging, or handling.
In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.
EXPOSURE


•INHALATION Dizziness. Drowsiness. Nausea. Headache. Vomiting.
Ventilation, local exhaust, or breathing protection. pril 2008
Fresh air, rest. Refer for medical attention.
•SKIN Redness.
Protective gloves.
Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
•EYES Redness. Pain.
Safety goggles.
First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
•INGESTION (see Inhalation).
Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
Rinse mouth. Give one or two glasses of water to drink. Do NOT induce vomiting. Refer for medical attention.

Remove all ignition sources. Evacuate danger area! Consult an expert! Personal protection: self-contained breathing apparatus. Ventilation. Collect leaking liquid in sealable containers. Absorb remaining liquid in sand or inert absorbent and remove to safe place. Wash away remainder with plenty of water.
Fireproof. Separated from strong oxidants, strong acids.

COLOURLESS LIQUID OR CRYSTALS , WITH CHARACTERISTIC ODOUR.

PHYSICAL DANGERS:
The vapour mixes well with air, explosive mixtures are easily formed.

CHEMICAL DANGERS:
The substance decomposes on contact with strong mineral acids and strong oxidants causing fire and explosion hazard.

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its vapour and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached rather quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
The substance is irritating to the eyes . The substance may cause effects on the central nervous system. Exposure far above the OEL could cause lowering of consciousness.

EFFECTS OF LONG-TERM OR REPEATED EXPOSURE:
Repeated or prolonged contact with skin may cause dermatitis. in MAK & ACGIH exist on developmental tox in very high doses and without statistically sig. effects - peer review decided to reject.
