EXPANDING RESEARCH PARTNERSHIPS: STATE OF THE SCIENCE CONFERENCE

NIOSH, in partnership with the Center for Health, Work & Environment at the Colorado School of Public Health, is pleased to announce a 2017 conference, Expanding Research Partnerships: State of the Science, in Aurora, Colorado. The conference goals are to:

1. Enhance and expand intramural and extramural partnership in occupational safety and health research
2. Launch the 3rd decade of the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA)

The conference will include plenary presentations, breakout sessions, poster sessions, and topic tables. We invite you to submit an abstract to present your work at this meeting.

The conference content is not limited to any specific field of work, and all scientific disciplines are invited to submit abstracts. There will also be a plenary session devoted to early career scientists. An early career scientist is defined as someone who has completed a graduate program within the last five years, and has a masters, doctorate, medical, or law degree.

Abstracts should be no more than 300 words in length and should have a concise title and specify if they should be considered for a plenary or poster session, or either.

Abstract Review Criteria

All abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by a subgroup of the Planning Committee using the following criteria:

• Relevance/Significance
  • Contribution to Science and/or Practice
  • Timeliness
  • Innovation
  • Collaboration/Partnerships
  • Relevance to NORA sector or cross-sector
• Approach/Methodology
  • Scientific Quality/Rigor
  • Data Collection and Analysis
  • Appropriateness of Approach
• Organization and Clarity
• Lessons Learned/Conclusions
  • Impact
  • Implications/Next Steps
