About NCHHSTP

The National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention (NCHHSTP) is one of the larger centers at CDC, with a budget of approximately $1 billion. The workforce consists of 1,700 full-time employees and contractors, including approximately 150 who are assigned to state and local health departments in the United States. NCHHSTP comprises an Office of the Director (OD) and five divisions, four of which are defined by the disease(s) they each address, plus the Division of Adolescent and School Health. Although the divisions have their own missions, the National Center OD provides leadership to help coordinate their efforts and foster collaboration. Center staff work in collaboration with governmental and nongovernmental partners at community, state, national, and international levels to accomplish the NCHHSTP mission.

The National Center is committed to our vision of a future free of HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, STDs, and TB. NCHHSTP is responsible for public health surveillance, prevention research, and programs to prevent and control HIV and AIDS, other STDs, viral hepatitis, and TB.

NCHHSTP publishes an annual report that highlights the Center’s accomplishments during the past year. The NCHHSTP Annual Report 2015 is available now.

NCHHSTP Strategic Plan for 2020 and Strategic Priorities Dashboard
