The Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) is a unique 2-year postgraduate training program of service and on-the-job learning for health professionals interested in the practice of applied epidemiology. Through the EIS program, the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) train health professionals in the principles and practice of environmental health.
