Empire State Public Health Training Center Performance Management Series

Performance Management Training Series – The New York State Department of Health Office of Public Health Practice and the Empire State Public Health Training Center provide the Performance Management Training Series to build knowledge and promote performance management and quality improvement in the public health workforce. This series is part of the National Public Health Improvement Initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

National Association of County and City Health Officials

Environmental Health Primer – The National Association of County and City Health Officials offers a free e-learning resource. The primer provides an overview of environmental public health plus modules on climate change, community environmental health assessments, the Environmental Public Health Performance Standards, and working with the media.

National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Performance Standards Training

Performance Standards Workshop – NEHA offers this free online course for continuing education credit. Participants gain hands-on experience in using the national EnvPHPS assessment tool to complete a full assessment of environmental health services within their jurisdiction.

National Public Health Performance Standards Program (NPHPSP)

NPHPSP Resources and Training – The National Network of Public Health Institutes provides the Agency & Systems Improvement Webinar Series on performance standards, performance improvement training, and quality improvement in public health.

Performance Management Quality Improvement Training – PHF provides links to resources for quality and performance improvement training.

Using EnvPHPS in the Field - 2007 Workshop

An EnvPHPS workshop was held on June 16-17, 2007, before the annual National Environmental Health Association Conference. Participants analyzed and prioritized gaps in capacities in their own agencies, learned about resources and tools for improving each of the ten essential environmental health services, received instruction in creating objectives and an evaluation plan, developed an implementation plan to address one or more of their agency's capacity gaps, and created a plan and timeline for ongoing capacity assessment and evaluation.
