WHO Guideline At-A-Glance - Figure 1

Activities that a country might undertake when implementing the WHO guideline: (1) assess the RBC folate status of the population, (2) based on population status, determine the need for interventions, such as folic acid fortification or supplementation, (3) decide which intervention is best to reach at-risk populations, (4) implement the intervention, (5) reassess population RBC folate status (at least six to twelve months post-intervention), and (6) make program adjustments as necessary.
