Courses on Epidemiology, Public Health Informatics, and Advanced
Case Studies in Public Health Practice
CDC and the University of Washington School of Public Health
and Community Medicine will cosponsor courses in epidemiology,
public health informatics, and advanced case studies in public
health practice as part of the 1997 Summer Institute of Public
Health Practice at the University of Washington School of Public
Health, July 21-August 1, 1997, in Seattle, Washington. The
epidemiology course will provide an in-depth consideration of
special epidemiologic topics. The informatics course will cover the
principles of applying information technology to public health
practice. The advanced case studies course will examine current
issues in public health practice using several management tools and
analytic techniques. These courses are offered in conjunction with
various practice-oriented public health science and management
courses at the Summer Institute. Public health practitioners are
encouraged to attend the courses.
Participation in each course is limited, and early application
is encouraged. There is a tuition charge. Additional information
