National Breast Cancer Awareness Month -- October 1995October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and October 19 has been designated National Mammography Day. CDC supports breast and cervical cancer early detection efforts through cooperative agreements with state health departments in all 50 states. Through a partnership with CDC, 35 states and nine American Indian tribal organizations offer affordable screening mammograms to low-income women.
