A recent report presents information on selected new items
from the revised "U.S. Standard Certificate of Live Birth." CDC's
National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) now makes available
data on medical and lifestyle risk factors of pregnancy and birth,
obstetric procedures performed, method of delivery, abnormal
conditions and congenital anomalies of the infant, Hispanic origin
of parents, and expanded data on birth attendant and place of
delivery. The medical and health data now available for mothers and
infants greatly expand the scope of information available on
pregnancy outcome.
